170 computer workplaces (120 will work in a remote desktop mode) and more than 400 non-computer workplaces.. A Technical Centre with modern electronic publishing equipment and software has been established.

The most valuable part of the first batch of the archives consists of periodicals (between 1887 and 2007) and books in Lithuanian, English and German, also personal archives of Dr. Jonas Šliūpas, Vytautas Beliajus, Alfonsas Braziulis, Aleksandras Dapšys, Jonas Dainauskas, Aleksandras Merkelis, K. Račkauskas-Vairas, Jonas Valiukas and others.
